Ekopak, Deinze

The new headquarters of Ekopak, located at the De Prijkels business park in Deinze, is an architectural statement that immediately captures attention. With a total surface area of 5,500 m², spread across five levels, and its distinctive donut-shaped design, the building stands out as a true landmark.

The fully glazed façade further enhances the building’s striking appearance — the result of a successful collaboration between Vorsselmans and Schüco.

Innovative Façade with a Belgian First

For Ekopak’s new headquarters, Vorsselmans once again partnered closely with Schüco. The circular building features a faceted curtain wall façade with fully integrated, automatically controlled internal sun shading — a first of this scale in Belgium.

Tailor-Made Engineering

Driven by Sustainability

The main technical challenge lay in translating this innovative concept into a perfectly executed circular façade. Specifically for this project, we designed a custom façade mullion and, together with Schüco, developed a solution in which all forces, cabling and support systems are seamlessly integrated.

Beyond aesthetics, sustainability and occupant comfort were key priorities. The intelligent sun shading system is automatically controlled via sensors, significantly reducing the building’s cooling demand.

Thanks to extensive engineering during the design phase and smooth collaboration between all partners, execution on site was both efficient and precise.

A Forward-Thinking Result

The result is a high-performance, future-oriented façade concept that perfectly reflects Ekopak’s innovative and sustainable vision.
