Olympus Nederland’s new headquarters opened at the start of 2017 on Vitaliteitsboulevard in Leiderdorp. Right next to the A4 motorway from The Hague to Amsterdam, a transparent and inviting building was created – without a main contractor, but in close collaboration with all construction partners.
Vorsselmans and Aldowa respectively fitted this building and its 3,000 m² gross floor area with curtain walling, with sun-proof, heat-resistant and soundproof glazing and with (anodised) aluminium flashings. We paid extra attention to the edging and the structure of the roof. The anodised aluminium added a striking architectural element that enhances the building’s overall character. What’s unique about this project is the BIM process, in which all parties defined the entire BIM model in a 2-day session as contractors. This resulted in a project that was swiftly completed – in around 5 months, to be precise.
