AGC Europe Headquarters

Vorsselmans has been a loyal customer of AGC, a renowned glass manufacturer, for decades. When the company planned to move its European headquarters from Brussels to Louvain-La-Neuve in a new and progressive glass building, we were invited to assist as the aluminium partner. This illustrates a principle we liked to live by: live and let live. Granting our partners something and offering each other opportunities. We realised this project together with our colleagues from J. Hermans & Co.

Building type Offices
Location Louvain-la-Neuve
Architect Samyn and Partners i.s.m. BEAI
Contractor Groep Van Roey

Aluminium wall curtain

For this project, we joined Van Roey’s construction team and the ensemble of architects. Van Roey was responsible for the entire construction process and activated a whole range of external partners. Vorsselmans signed for the aluminium curtain and Vorsselmans Solar took care of the photovoltaic solar panels on the roof. It was an intensive collaboration in which each party reinforced the other one, which led to a splendid result.

Building on stilts

The building is on stilts so that it can blend in with the landscape and the parking garage can be hidden under the offices. The ground plan is a square and we organised the spaces inside to facilitate contact with the outside world. For example, we included several patios with greenery. At the same time, the spaces are compact and energy-efficient.
