Sportoase Groot Schijn
Sportoase built a new swimming centre in Deurne and group Van Roey trusted us to help complete the project successfully.
The project included curtain walls (500 m²), shed roofs (125 m²) and a number of windows & doors we created using the Schüco profile system.
Investments to meet the client’s demands
One challenge of this project was that it had to be delivered digitally (BIM) before we could start the construction phase. To meet this demand, we heavily invested in testing new software and a new approach to meet the client’s requests for the model with the necessary data to manage preparation and production.
Moreover, Sportoase also built a new skating centre right next to the swimming pool complex. This increased the scope of our assignment. This part of the project was therefore again delivered digitally before construction could start. For this, we therefore adapted our new approach to meet the demand.
This swimming pool and skating infrastructure secures the future of winter sports in Antwerp. As the only Olympic city where the Summer and Winter Games were held together, we owed it to ourselves to honour that legacy.
