Courthouse

The new Breda court building will be a contemporary building. A cohesive whole, serving three separate organisations. The new courthouse will be house the District Court, Public Prosecutor’s Office and the Child Protection Board. To ensure independence, the office spaces of all three organisations will be separate units and there will be some central facilities and public areas for each of the organisations.

33,000 m² floor area

The complete surface area of the courthouse is around  33,000 m², not including parking facilities and site development. A car park of about 8,000 m² will be added as well.

The Rijksvastgoedbedrijf assigned this project to InBalans. InBalans is a partnership with three shareholding parties Facilicom, Macquarie Capital Group and VolkerWessels as well as the following parties: Architekten CIE., Architectenbureau Paul de Ruiter, Sevil Peach, Karres en Brands Landschapsarchitecten, Arup, Halmos, Visser & Smit Bouw bv and HOMIJ.

Vorsselmans designed a project-specific façade solution for this project to meet the architect’s aesthetic wishes of the architect and the requirements set by the government.
